ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Jane Lowrey-Christian was born in North Missouri during the Great Depression, spending her childhood on a farm during these difficult drought years of the 1930’s.  Her first book, Budgie and Sissy’s Adventure, described her fascinating childhood among the many animals and with her devoted family and close friends.

Although Jane was always an avid reader, her desire to be a writer didn’t surface until her five children were grown and had children of their own and those children had children. In other words, Jane began her career as a writer when she was a great-grandmother. Her imaginative new children’s books in the Quackless Duck Series were inspired by a real rubber duck that had a motion sensor that would quack when someone was nearby, but eventually lost that ability with age. Jane gave Quackless a new life with new books that seem to write themselves. She sits at her computer and the stories evolve, always introducing numerous new animal pals that help Quackless overcome challenges.  Not only does Jane pen the stories, but she illustrates each and every book. The colors and the drawings are sure to delight young children.

The love for family is deeply expressed in each book that Jane writes. Her great grandchildren are thrilled with the stories and she generously credits her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren with motivating her to happiness.

When Jane is not writing, you’ll find her singing at country music show in North Missouri and Southern Iowa, playing piano, sketching, or just doing what friendly people do–visiting with loved ones. She has also become an accomplished radio guest making monthly appearances on the internationally syndicated radio talk show, Starstyle-Be the Star You Are!

ABOUT THE BOOKS

The Quackless Series of books are a children’s fantasy. You’ll meet Quackless, a little rubber ducky who lives in a bathtub. His human friends love him, but they can’t hear him, but he is happy with his many animal friends. Throughout the series, we follow Quakless on his adventures as he is abandoned by the boy who plays with him, gets washed away in a flood, finds his friends, gets a voice, meets an angel, visits heaven, and rides with Rudolph.
