They read the chapter, The Gift of Volunteerism, from Be the Star You Are!® for Teens. Volunteering with Be the Star You Are!® and Express Yourself!™ has been an amazing experience that benefits others and benefits the volunteers. Asya shares information on how to help stop human trafficking via volunteering, Katie offers job opportunities in non profits and Joven discusses how to help with the devastation of Hurricane Matthew.

Volunteering is like giving away a piece of yourself, only to have it returned to you in an even better condition, and twice as valuable as it had originally been. Volunteering gives you a feeling of peace, and makes you smile. Volunteering brightens everything you do because you get that “feel good” sensation when you know you have helped someone else. Volunteering offers you the opportunity to change people’s lives, including your own. It’s also a great way to meet people, make new friends, and be exposed to different aspects of life. Volunteering also helps the volunteer find a glimpse into a future career.
